Three years ago my wife and I started thinking (at the ages of 40) that we wanted to be financially secure and retire in our early 50s, but had no idea how to achieve this. We then met Ram Vel, who was in the early stages of building his company Asset Point. At no cost, Ram walked us through a year by year plan, to build up an investment property portfolio using only the equity in the house we live in. This would allow us to retire, living off the future profit of the investment properties, as we sell one every few years.
In the first year, we put down the deposits for 4 blocks of land through Ram, each one settling 6-12 months apart. We now have two houses built and rented out, with one house starting construction and the 4th land settling in the next 6 months. The rentals are also fully managed by Asset Point. The only effort my wife and I have done in the past three years is to lift a pen and sign the necessary documentation. Ram and his team at Asset Point do everything else.
We could not have imagined how easy the whole process was and continues to be, we wish we had done it sooner. If only Asset Point had existed 10 years ago, we would have already been in our early retirement.
